I'm Still Here

Can't begin to write about the last two weeks yet. However, I did want to let you know I'm still out here and to thank you so much for your prayers, cards and email. We are making an effort along with the rest of our family to get used to what will be our new normal. So many of you have prayed and it has been those prayers that have held us up and carried us through this horrible time.

We mourn, but we are blessed.

God is good.

Stephen, my heart has gone out to you and your family. I know that you are surrounded by love and I want you to feel that. I don't understand loss except that it hurts. You are being prayed for and thought of and held up.

You've all been on my mind as well ... almost 12 years ago my 16-year-old baby cousin, Bethany, died in a car accident -- I understand what a devastating blow that is to so many.

But the time, which at first seemed to move as one dragging his feet in hardening cement -- oh, how it has flown. The mourning -- the mourning that made breathing almost unbearable, throat swollen from onslaught after onslaught of tears -- the mourning has gone. The sweetness of the memories is what now remains ...

May you all look for that sweetness, may you find it, and may it bring you solace.

Many, many prayers have gone up for your family. May the Lord fill you with His presence, with His comfort and His peace. May He sustain you and keep your feet from slipping. Please know that we continue to pray.

Stephen-I think of you and your family everyday and am praying for peace and some sense of comfort during this incredibly difficult time of grief and transition. Thinking of you.

I'm praying too. And I live just 2 hours south of Chicago - so I hope you're enjoying the best city in the world! (I'm biased, since I grew up there.) Anyway.....I'll keep praying for your family.

Just hunker down in His love and the love of others--that's how BST and I made it through. Love you, and missed you last weekend. Miss Judy
